First Soccer Practice

Jakey is playing soccer this year. More for the social aspect than anything. He is my shy little bug and I wanted to get him in something to start working on that. He was not that excited about it and very nervous. He is playing with his best bud Maddie so that helped his nervousness. So, yesterday was the big day, our first soccer practice. I was so nervous as to how he would be. Angela took the kids yesterday to get their socks and shin guards. His are green!!! HUGE! He was so excited he put them on 1 hour before we left for practice. Thanks Angela!!

Then he got to take his own ball to practice which he loved (this would cause problems later when he was asked to share the ball). So he spent the hour before practicing his soccer in the house. Caden was mimicking everything he did. It was so funny!

It was time. I was nervous he was going to cling to me and sit on the sidelines the whole time. If he did that was OK I was just dreading it. When we got there he sat in his chair and you could see him literally sink into himself I was like God please no he was so excited at home.

Time for practice. He did great! He listened and obeyed the coach. We only had the one incident with the ball. But, it was funny after about 40 minutes he was so tired. Instead of running with the ball he was slowly walking. He fell asleep so fast and mommy and daddy were so proud. Tate kept telling him how proud she was of him and I swear that was all that mattered to him.

Now....the fun part of the night....the darn love bugs UGH! I HATE them and swear if I could kill everyone of those little creatures I would. They were swarming us. When I got out of my chair and went back to sit down there had to be over 100 sitting on my chair. Then one flew in my mouth UGH!. They were flying up our shorts and shirts. Angela said when I got home and sat down in the bathroom 200 were probably going to fly out of my pants! GROSS!
